Lab Goings On
12.03.09 - Semester Wind Down
It has been a busy semester for those of us at SURG! We have been examining the efficacy of a High School Expectancy Challenge protocol with the participation of Seminole County and we launched our Greek Expectancy Challenge project within the UCF community. Representatives of SURG also successfully presented a poster at the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Sciences convention held in New York City, New York. Overall, it has been a fun and exciting Fall semester full of productivity. After winter break, plans for the lab include further validation of the Expectancy Challenge curriculum. Until then, we hope everyone has an enjoyable and safe holiday break!
08.31.09 - APA and Beyond
SURG went to Toronto, Ontario August 5th - 9th and successfully presented two research posters at the American Psychological Association Convention. The convention offered SURG international recognition and exposure and it offered a great networking opportunity for our undergraduate students who went. SURG is already planning the next conference to present posters at the Association of Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies being held in New York, New York this November 19th - 22nd.
07.01.09 - Summer Plans to Pilot the High School Expectancy Challenge
We just formalized an agreement to pilot the high school version of the Expectancy Challenge with a group of adolescents this summer. It'll be our chance to test-run the curriculum before the full implementation in Seminole County this fall. Should be exciting!
06.22.09 - Toronto, here we come!
Our student group, H.E.A.L.T.H., just received funding to attend the American Psychological Association’s conference in August, 2009. Five of us will be heading to Canada to present our research and represent UCF at this international meeting. Looking forward to it!
