Dr. Dunn joined UCF in 1996 after completing a post-doctoral fellowship at the Alcohol and Substance Use Research Institute at the University of South Florida. He worked for several years at the Addictive Behavior Research Center while completing a B.S. in Psychology at the University of Washington. He completed his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology in 1995 at the University of South Florida. Dr. Dunn’s research interests include the development of alcohol and substance use in children, development of prevention programs for children and college students, and cognitive processes related to alcohol and substance use, eating behavior, and body image. Dr. Dunn is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in Florida (PY5502) and has served as a consultant to school systems, foundations, universities, and attorneys on alcohol and substance use issues in addition to his academic position at UCF. Dr. Dunn established the Substance Use Research Group (SURG) at UCF to facilitate research, teaching, and community service related to alcohol and drug use. SURG is always looking for motivated undergraduate and graduate students to join our very active group.
